Some of the biggest issues to look for: are the bleachers not moving under their own power, not travelling straight, scraping, squealing or banging noises, or leaving marks on the floor? If they haven’t been looked at for more than 2 years, your best bet is to have them inspected.
Cracked, broken, loose, or missing seats. All of these are safety hazards and should warrant a service call to make sure that nobody is injured in your stands. We have options for replacing seats, and we can usually either get the exact seats, or find something similar if those are no longer in distribution.
Hard and dry, or full of floor finish. If they leave marks on floor, that’s a sign of a problem, as well as loss of traction. If your wheels are worn away and crumbling like a pencil eraser, give us a call.
For operation, we suggest a yearly preventative maintenance. For safety, give us a call with specifics. There are different sources, so not only do you need to meet your state bleacher standards, you also need to meet the national fire code. Your insurance provider may require them to meet International building code (ICC 300), or maybe even the consumer safety commission standards. Each one of these has a little different spin on inspection timelines.
