The Denver Health Hospital Authority Office of the Medical Examiner set out to relocate and renovate a new state-of-the-art facility. The main challenge was designing a space to perform city and county autopsies with top of the line equipment that is easy to keep sanitary and free from potential contamination.

Customer: Denver Health Hospital Authority
Location: Denver, Colorado
Haldeman Homme worked very closely with Turner Construction, Page Southerland Architects, and Iron Horse Lab Planning to design and install a new morgue and lab space. The new facility features a wide variety of products, mostly manufactured by Mortech. The basis of design was originally planned around another manufacturer, but HHI solutions expert Tina Doise thought Mortech would better meet the requirements of the job.
HHI supplied industry leading equipment for the Office of the Medical Examiner, creating a space that is functional, open, and organized. The stainless steel countertops and casework make it easy to sanitize, meeting the original goal of keeping out biohazardous material. HHI also provided plastic laminate casework, environmental rooms, morgue equipment, such as autopsy tables, sinks, trays, carriers, and cadaver storage.
