Since our founding in 1924, H2I Group, formerly Haldeman Homme, has been committed to bringing you quality products with exceptional service. The history of H2I’s mindset has always been solutions-oriented. We continue to grow from a simple supply company in the Twin Cities to a nationwide solutions provider. H2I Group is continuously changing, but our dedication to excellence for our customers has remained the same.
In 1924, H2I Group- known then as The Industrial Supply Company- was founded by W. W. “Duke” Haldeman. Through his vision, and that of William R. Langford and John E. “Jack” Homme, the company grew from four employees and one field of products, to its current status as an employee-owned company with more than 300 members, and a nationwide reach with over 75 product options in six different markets.
In 1940, partner William R. Langford joined the company, which was renamed to Haldeman-Langford.
In 1946, John E. “Jack” Homme joined the company. He proceeded to direct and expand the architectural- contract sales group in the rapidly growing educational and hospital markets
In 1949, the Haldeman Langford Manufacturing Company is created after the Haldeman-Langford company entered into a manufacturing-royalty arrangement, for the first time in its history, with Reynold Erickson of Forest Lake, Minnesota.
In 1950, Jack Homme became vice president and general manager of both Haldeman-Langford and Haldeman-Langford Manufacturing
In 1954, W.R. Langford retired, and the companies were renamed to Haldeman-Homme, Incorporated and Haldeman-Homme Manufacturing Company, respectively.
In 1959, Duke Haldeman retired from the company, and Haldeman-Homme Manufacturing Company was sold to Hamilton Manufacturing Company of Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

In 1961, Haldeman Homme moved from its original headquarters on University Avenue in St Paul, Minnesota, and began leasing larger offices on East Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In 1966, the company built a 14,000 square foot facility on two acres in the mid-city industrial park in Minneapolis, where it currently resides. The building was specifically designed to serve the company’s sales and service staff along with needed warehouse stocking space.

In 1967, Haldeman-Homme acquired the Anderson Ladd Corporation, the leading supplier of commercial and residential hardwood and athletic flooring in the Midwest. The corporation was dissolved, and Anderson-Ladd began operating as a subsidiary division of Haldeman-Homme, Inc.
In 1977, the company profit sharing plan was converted to an employee stock ownership plan, with nine employee owners.
In 1987, the employee stock ownership plan changed the game and made Haldeman Homme, Inc. 100% employee owned.
In 1996, Ernie Stalock (pictured on the right) became president and established the company's motto of "Exceeding Customer Expectations," building on decades of impeccable customer service.
In 2008, HHI grew operations in the south and west, with offices in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Denver, and Salt Lake City. Academic Specialties, a provider for the construction, design professional, and school markets in Denver, Colorado, was acquired, bringing HHI to the Rocky Mountain region.
In 2009, HHI distribution expanded to Arkansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wyoming.
